SPS LAUNCHES PLIE' MPC KNEE™
After more than three years of development and extensive field testing, SPS is pleased to announce the launch of the next generation of microprocessor controlled knees, the Plie'™ MPC Knee from Freedom Innovations. To introduce SPS customers to this new technology, SPS is offering a 4-hr hands-on course featuring a live patient fitting to obtain a working knowledge of how to properly select and utilize all Plie' MPC Knee® functionality.
Advanced hydraulic engineering and optimization of microprocessor programming embodied in the proprietary Accel™ Control Technology allows the Plie' knee to make nearly instantaneous adjustments related to knee position and velocity. With a reaction time ten times (10Xs) faster than the blink of an eye, the device provides precise response to actual gait dynamics as they occur, rather than a step behind. The result is a prosthetic knee that requires less cognitive effort from its user, freeing him or her from concentrating on their stability and allowing them to regain enjoyment of the world around them.
When it comes to water resistance, no other microprocessor knee comes close. Activities once forbidden such a boating, fly fishing, washing the car or taking the kids to the water park, are now fair game. A replaceable battery pack gives users the option of alternating a second battery so that the knee is never out of working order.
