Now available from SPS, the Adaptive 2 microprocessor knee manufactured by Endolite, has dramatic time saving improvements which simplify the programming process and eliminate cumbersome, lengthy office fitting sessions. The unique Programming Wizard utilizes the wearer's individual body structure and personal information to shorten the programming time of the limb. Quick and easy, the programming wizard reduces the "learning" time of the microprocessor from 900 steps or more to approximately 300 steps — a two-thirds reduction in programming time. The support mode in Adaptive 2 provides variable resistance and increased stability. External, independent charging of the batteries, distinct from the limb, provides greater flexibility for the user and heightened ability to return to preferred activities of longer durations. For added comfort and confidence, the Adaptive Knee allows the amputee to wear any existing foot and/or socket design.
