Ga – SPS is pleased to introduce the medipro®
Family of Knee Joints to the O&P community in the
United States. A truly unique aspect of all of the knees in the
medipro family is their design focus for amputees of low to medium
activity levels. Emphasis in design and manufacturing has been
placed on the provision of lightweight yet highly durable products
which yield very stable, fluid motion with various control options
to fit the needs and lifestyle of the amputee.
The medipro family of knees is composed of four alternatives from which to choose:
- OP2
is a unique 4 Bar Polycentric joint designed to provide extremely
smooth, fluid motion in perfect rhythm with the amputee’s
gait and lifestyle needs. Resistant adjustments for flexion and
extension are independently controlled to allow maximum synchronization
with the amputee’s stride and cadence. OP2 has been specifically
designed to increase the stability, comfort and reliability needs
moderate activity level amputees who vary their walking speed.
OP2 has independent swing phase flexion and extension resistances
in a low profile design (knee center to proximal attachment at
0.5”; Knee center to top of pyramid is 1 1/16”)
OP3
is the ONLY single axis weight activated locking knee with pneumatic
swing phase control available in the United States. This unique
design couples the attributes of safety and stability with the
fluid motion and smooth gait produced by a pneumatically controlled
knee. The OP3 provides a wide range of flexion and extension resistance
through independent adjustment of the pneumatic swing phase control.
The geometry of the OP3 provides controlled resistance to knee
flexion through the range of swing phase motion. Made of lightweight
metal alloys, OP3 is suitable for the community ambulatory who
has the potential for variable cadence. The 30 mm distal adapter
removes need for tube clamp adapter.
OFM1
Locking Knee is a 4 bar polycentric joint which features
added versatility by incorporating either manual locking OR manual
friction swing phase control. A simple twist of an allen wrench
removes the manual lock and converts the knee to free swing. OFM1
also provides adjustable Friction Swing Phase Control and with
adjustable Extension Assist. The Low Profile design places measurement
of knee center to proximal attachment at 0.5”; Knee center
to top of pyramid is 1 1/16”.
OM8
Polycentric Knee is joint designed specifically to address
needs of geriatric and low activity amputees with minimal space
requirements in very lightweight housing. Weighing a slight 430
grams itself, the OM8 is an ultra-lightweight unit applicable
for amputees weighing up to 100 kg/220 lbs. Minimal sizing of
the OM8 provides maximum benefit to smaller individuals.
