SPS INTRODUCES LOC-N-LOAD™ AK & BK LOCKS

Alpharetta, GaNOW AVAILABLE – SPS is pleased to announce the exclusive availability of the unique LOC-n-LOAD™* AK lock by Creative Components™ .

The AK Loc-n-Load is the first and ONLY AK lock available in the O&P Industry. The AK Loc-n-Load is preflexed at 4.5 degrees and has a posterior offset 5/8” (1.5 cm) to allow easier alignment of the leg. The lock housing is anodized and wear surfaces are heat treated to assure long-life and durability. Average cycle life is projected at 3-5 years, with 1-2 years for heavy duty wearers.

The AK Loc-n-Load is available in three sizes (Small – 3”; Medium – 3 1⁄2”; and Large – 4”) to accommodate various residual limb diameters and provide better aesthetic lines in the finished socket. While a standard 1 1⁄4” pin is shipped with each AK Loc-n-Load, pin lengths of 1 3⁄4” and 2 1⁄2” are also available. The AK Loc-n-Load requires no special tools and is applicable for either thermoplastic or laminating fabrication techniques. A single Dummy fits all three sizes of the AK Loc-n-Load.

Specifications for the AK Loc-n-Load are as follows:

A BK version of the Loc-n-Load is also available. The BK Loc-n-LoadTM unit has been perfected through continuous patient trials over the last 5 years.  Successive quality improvements were made on 550 locks in eight (8) different generations to arrive at the final design Creative Component’s felt worthy of your trust and use in your practice. In the past 5 years, the locks have been used on amputees of functional levels 2 through 4, with weights ranging from 100 to 300 lbs. The final lock design has now been incorporated into more than 300 legs with ZERO PROBLEMS over 18 months.

Due to the long life and durability of the Loc-n-Load, O&P facilities using the unit have reported significant savings, in both material and labor costs that translate directly to their bottom line. These same practitioners have gained the peace of mind of not having to worry about a patient walking out of their prosthesis due to lock malfunction or wear. The amputee can always be certain his/her leg is secure by the “click” of the lock before standing and loading the device.

Like it’s brother, the BK Loc-n-Load is available in small (2 1⁄2”), medium (3 1⁄4”) and large (3 1⁄2”) sizes to provide more aesthetic lines on the finished socket. Standard 1 1⁄4” pin is likewise provided with the BK Loc-n-Load, but pin lengths of 1 3⁄4” and 2 1⁄2” are also available. Offset plates in 12 Hole and 18 Hole versions are also available for use in fabrication.

Specifications for the BK Loc-n-Load are as follows:
