SPS ANNOUNCES CODE RECOMMENDATION FOR Renegade™

ALPHARETTA, GA - SPS announces the verdict of the AOPA Coding Committee's review of the renegade™ foot from Freedom Innovations, Inc. Concluding detailed evaluation and analysis of the design and performance of the revolutionary Renegade shock against the Medical descriptors of the L-codes for lower extremity prosthetics, the AOPA Coding Committee* has recommended use of L-5987 (all lower extremity prosthesis, shank foot system with vertical loading pylon) when filing for medical reimbursement.

As a gesture of appreciation to all SPS customers, new and long-standing, SPS will provide a Free Fleece Blanket with the purchase of each Renegade foot. This offer applies to all purchase orders for a Renegade placed between October 22, 2003 and December 31, 2003 . Go to Free Fleece Blanket for additional details.

The remarkable Renegade features the first all carbon fiber shock system to deliver extra lightweight vertical shock absorption in a maintenance free design. Traditional design of prosthetic shock systems to date have assumed only something similar to the shock on your car could absorb the jarring vertical loads exerted on a prosthetic foot at heelstrike. But the composite geniuses at Freedom Innovations have taken a right turn from tradition and developed the first all graphite, carbon fiber shock - the Z Shock. The Z shock's composite nature allows dissipation of vertical loads while transferring the kinetic energy produced in each step into an elastic form which is stored until transmission through the upper member of the foot and rebounded at toe-off. The result is unmatched tibial progression and energy return in a foot weighing only 387 grams or 0.87 lbs without the footshell.
