MOM'S ANSWER TO INDEPENDENCE
"I am so glad I found Answer 2 Shoes! Finding shoes to properly fit over the AFO's and KAFO's that my son wears has been a challenge for the past four years. Then we found Answer 2 shoes. What a difference this shoe makes! The removable insoles allow for variation in shoe depth and also accommodate the slight difference in my son's right leg length. We always had to buy lace up shoes and buy extra long laces because of the width of the orthodic. Popular Velcro shoes were never an option for my son. Answer 2 Shoes come with extra long Velcro straps which have multiple reinforced stitching so I can trim the strap to his individual need. The tongue of the shoe is designed so that the shoe can be opened very wide allowing us to place my son's braced foot into the shoe rather than wiggle and push the foot."
"Answer 2 Shoes have also been the answer to my son's increased independence. Other shoes just didn't fit properly, were difficult to remove, and impossible for my son to put on independently. With the design of Answer 2 Shoes my son is able to completely dress himself in the morning including his shoes. As a 5-year-old with spina bifida developing his sense of self, being able to do something as simple as putting on his own shoes is a huge boost to his self-esteem. It is also a milestone of independence; one that I cherish as a mom of a child with special needs.
