Practical Utilization of Medicare LCD and Policy Article: Lower Limb Prostheses for Clinicians | 1.25 CEUs (Business)
In this one-hour course, attendees will learn the reasons why clinicians should be familiar with LCDs and policy articles. SPS Clinical will lead a review of the different information contained in both. Attendees will learn about the importance of understanding revisions, where to find revisions and how to utilize and understand them.
Clinical Solutions and Evidence-Based Guidelines for Persons with Partial Foot Amputations | 1.25 CEUs (Scientific)
This course will provide ABC and BOC Certified Orthotic Practitioners, Orthotic Assistants, Fitters, and Technicians with evidence-based clinical solutions and guidelines for patients who present with partial foot amputations. SPS Clinical will review updated CDC prevalence data, key factors that influence safe stance phase of gait, as well as critical considerations for ankle, knee, and hip kinetics to reduce shearing forces along the distal residual limb during the propulsive phase of gait. Additionally, recommendations for negative limb capture, proper alignment, use of composite materials, and design of prosthosis will be discussed.
Ergonomic Manufacturing with Bulldog Tools, Inc. | 2.0 CEUs (Scientific)
Fabricate it right the first time to same time and resources! In this course, you will learn processes of the fabrication procedure to save time and understand the ‘why’ behind decisions you make. Cultivating a thorough understanding of fabrication procedures can have a large impact on the patient’s experience and outcomes. Attendees will walk away from this course with the knowledge of what tools can help create a more ergonomic manufacturing process and why ergonomics is important.
Live training for the adjustable REVOlution with Click Medical | 2.25 CEUs (Scientific)
This two-hour live course will provide attendees with classroom setting and hands-on training for fabricating a variety of prosthetic devices that include RevoFit. Attendees will be introduced to Click Medical's adjustable kits, receive training on best practices for designing prosthetic sockets with RevoFit, and will apply their knowledge by designing a prosthetic socket with an adjustable system. Upper and lower extremity devices will be discussed, and special attention will be given to the nuance of lower extremity devices to ensure that proper consideration is taken when designing and fabricating a device.
Residual Limb Capture Technology for Total Surface Bearing Prosthetic Socket: Cypress Adaptive Symphonie Aqua System Overview with Polaris | 2.25 CEUs (Scientific)
This two-hour course will provide attending clinicians with a clinical and technical overview and first-hand experience of the Symphonie Aqua System product line, along with introduction to the UV light curing Polaris prosthetic socket. This revolutionary socket technology provides clinicians with the ability to capture the negative impression of a subject’s residual limb, while bearing full weight with hydrostatic pressure, and produce a total surface bearing prosthetic socket, within minutes.
