BlueROCKER
BlueROCKER is identical in shape and design as the standard ToeOFF but offers more rigid orthotic control. The extra stability will improve both balance and posture and give the wearer greater security, especially individuals with weak quadriceps muscles. Footdrop with multiple involvement, severe ankle instability and/or proximal weakness/deficits, PTTD, and partial foot amputations (most proximal level is Chopart). Usually the preferred orthosis to be used in conjunction with a socket and toe filler for management of partial foot amputations. Full coverage, anatomically shaped anterior tibia shell provides tibia stabilization and control. Short strut "wraps" over instep. Medial-lateral and rotation control of the foot and ankle complex.
For optimum fit, function and comfort, and complete listing of indications and contraindications; please review the professional instructions included with each product. These instructions include guidelines to assist you in selecting the Allard AFOs that will best address your individual patient's needs: Ypsilon, ToeOFF, BlueROCKER, ToeOFF SHORT, ToeOFF 2.0 Addition, KiddieGAIT (Pediatric sizes of ToeOFF), and KiddieROCKER (Pediatric sizes of BlueROCKER). Proper product selection is crucial to a successful fitting.

How are the Allard AFOs different from other carbon composite AFOs?
- The Allard AFOs are the original carbon composite AFO customizable shell that has been engineered to provide a dynamic response throughout the gait cycle by utilizing the flexibility of the open heel footplate, the stability of the footplate and lateral strut; and the graded flexibility of the toe plate for use in orthotic and prosthetic designs. They not only keep the foot up during swing phase, but also provide a soft heel strike, stability in stance and optimal propulsion at toe-off, mimicking the 3 rockers of normal gait. It's especially better in the third rocker (the propulsive phase of gait) because it has better energy return to enhance propulsion.
- Unique when compared to other carbon composites, the Allard AFOs are graded by size and model type, allowing the practitioner to go up or down a size or change models to customize ToeOFF to the functional dynamic response, stability, and range of motion needs of the individual patient. This provides more symmetry during gait and minimizes energy consuming compensatory mechanisms.
The BlueROCKER (KiddieROCKER for pediatrics) carbon composite dynamic shell and footplate is usually the model of choice to use as a component in fabricating a tibial tubercle height partial foot prosthesis.
Allard AFOs should always be worn with a soft interface between the leg and the anterior shell (Custom, Allard SoftKIT, ComfortKIT, or SoftSHELL) and the foot and the footplate (Custom Foot Orthotic or Allard Foot Orthotic Shell).
Proper heel height adjustment is important to assure proper alignment of the anterior plate along the tibia for comfort and to reduce stress on the lateral strut.
